An amazingly inspiring night on the premises of tech incubator <a href='http://wayra.co/uk'>Wayra</a>, the event consisted of showcasing innovative technologies in the construction industry (and not only, design and virtual reality were also among the touched points) and resulting in a cross-disciplinary conversation regarding the future of the built environment. An impressive number of speakers from 8 of the industry’s up-and-coming tech start-ups presented alongside BaseStone’s CEO, <strong>Alex Siljanovski</strong>. We caught up with him in an exclusive interview on why BaseStone is the go-to tool for architects and engineers, their relationship with users and how they’re planning to bring the tool to the next level.</p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/613.jpg'><img height='500' width='1024' alt='6' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/613-1024x500.jpg' class='aligncenter size-large wp-image-27478'/></a></p><br/><p><strong>INSPIRATIONIST: What is <a href='http://basestone.io/'>BaseStone</a> and what does it bring new to the world of architecture and construction? What is the most important thing to know about it?</strong></p><br/><p><strong>Alex Siljanovski:</strong> BaseStone is drawing review and collaboration for architects and engineers. We improve the review process which is integral to any construction project but often done in a messy, inefficient way. BaseStone effectively streamlines this process, ensuring the right drawings and data are in the right hands, facilitating effortless collaboration and making sure things get built right first time!</p><br/><p>We are linking decentralised information and bringing real collaboration to the world of architecture and construction. These things seem obvious but they are necessary, now more than ever, in our industry. Believe it or not, we’re not actually trying to revolutionise the construction industry, we don’t need you to uproot entire systems to implement us – as is the assumption when innovation is introduced into construction. We just want to help people do what they do best.</p><br/><p>The most important thing to know is, BaseStone saves time and money on construction projects, it’s been proven. It helps teams work better together and empowers the individual with the right data to help them get their job done.</p><br/><p><strong>I: What is your background and what was the trigger behind the creation of BaseStone?</strong></p><br/><p><strong>A.S.:</strong> I’ve been in construction for nearly 10 years and am a chartered engineer. In that time I’ve worked on a diverse set of projects, but I kept running into the same problem. We would receive drawings from project managers, work and actually build off these drawings (which were often marked up in a smudgy biro against a wall somewhere), only to realise that these drawings were outdated, or the problems we had been indicating were not taken into account. I wanted engineers and construction professionals like myself to be able to do the work they set out to do without all the process inefficiencies!</p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/51.png'><img height='768' width='1024' alt='5' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/51-1024x768.png' class='aligncenter size-large wp-image-27475'/></a></p><br/><p><strong>I: BaseStone won the prestigious award for <a href='https://blog.basestone.io/?p=88'>Best Alpha Startup</a> at the <a href='https://websummit.net/'>Web Summit</a> in Dublin last year. How did that influence the popularity of the tool?</strong></p><br/><p><strong>A.S.:</strong> <a href='https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwv9-1pPh78'>Winning</a> Best Alpha Startup increased our visibility among potential customers and investors in an unprecedented way. Small parts of the construction industry picked up on our win and that begun to snowball quickly. As part of our prize we went to Coca-Cola’s headquarters in Atlanta, allowing us to see the potential startups like BaseStone have within a multinational like Coca-Cola. It was a hugely -beneficial experience and conversation moved into using BaseStone on the construction of bottling plants!</p><br/><p><strong>I: You are now enrolled in the <a href='http://www.techstars.com/'>Techstars Startup Accelerator</a> programme: what are you hoping to achieve during your time there?</strong></p><br/><p><strong>A.S.:</strong> We went into Techstars wanting to gain both knowledge and resources we wouldn’t have had access to otherwise to genuinely accelerate our business. With our 3 months coming to an end, I can say that the experience has gone above and beyond our expectations. Techstars have provided a huge network of mentors, who have given invaluable support and guidance throughout the process.</p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/213.jpg'><img height='652' width='1024' alt='2' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/213-1024x652.jpg' class='aligncenter size-large wp-image-27472'/></a></p><br/><p><strong>I: What is your relationship with the users of the tool? Are people getting involved, are you getting important constructive feedback?</strong></p><br/><p><strong>A.S.:</strong> We work hand in hand with our users to gain insights on how the product is being used and how we should continue to improve it. It is through this kind of collaboration with construction professionals that we discovered BaseStone is making cost savings of up to 65%! Our philosophy is to provide unparalleled support with a system system lets users communicate with our development team, who in turn get real time feedback.</p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/41.png'><img height='768' width='1024' alt='4' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/41-1024x768.png' class='aligncenter size-large wp-image-27474'/></a></p><br/><p><strong>I: What is next for BaseStone and how are planning to develop and improve the tool in the near future?</strong></p><br/><p><strong>A.S.:</strong> We tend to jokingly quote Indiana Jones, when he answers similar questions with “<em>I don’t know, I’m making it up as I go</em>!”. Actually, this comes from an acceptance of constant change and flux that comes from iterating the product so quickly. The team is working very hard to make sure BaseStone continues to increase efficiency for users and the projects it is used on. We want to be part of the change in construction.</p><br/><p>We are part of the wave of innovation sweeping the industry, we want to build this community of innovators within architecture and construction. We have just launched two programmes, our Enterprise Development Programme for enterprise users and our Student Development Programme, for the country’s future engineers and architects, who we believe should be equipped with the right tools from the beginning of their career. Watch this space!</p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/313.jpg'><img height='649' width='1024' alt='3' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/313-1024x649.jpg' class='aligncenter size-large wp-image-27473'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><search/><br/><a href='http://inspirationist.net/inspirationist-exclusive-interview-with-alex-siljanovski-ceo-of-basestone/'>Inspirationist Exclusive: Interview with Alex Siljanovski - CEO of BaseStone</a>Ionel Pascuhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01761845947199504778noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7901433686420427566.post-5324189075203941962015-06-19T11:55:00.001+03:002015-06-19T11:55:22.657+03:00Appartement Trocadéro: generous volumes and Parisian ornaments<p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/117.jpg'><img height='633' width='950' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/117.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27445'/></a></p><br/><p><strong>Appartement Trocadéro</strong> designed by <a href='http://www.rodolpheparente.com/actualites/appartement-trocadero-42-0-fr.html'>Rodolphe Parente</a> occupies approximately 350 square meters and is located in Paris’s Trocadero neighbourhood. It is characterised by very generous volumes with avery strong presence of decorative elements and Parisian ornaments. The design of the project is based primarily on a deep respect for existing elements while stressing specific details, beautiful volumes and the staging of the collection of art and furniture. The softness of the places is the result of strong and bold stylistic choices. The combination of materials such as bronze medal and Calacatta Caldia marble is a chosen signature that marks subtly the coherence and unity between spaces.</p><br/><p><a Altona's facade folds itself into the landscape<p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/115.jpg'><img height='676' width='1000' alt='' href='http://www.thecommonoffice.se/'>The Common Office</a> is located in Törnskogen, in the municipality of Sollentuna, Sweden. The site is steep with a height difference of nine meters between the ground floor and the street level. The contrast between the suburban landscape to the south and the untouched forest to the north, gives the site its identity. The two opposite characters of the site generated the form, placement and colors of the house. The building is divided into four narrow units, each 2.85m wide. The four units are offset horizontally and vertically, following the high differences of the terrain. The facade folds itself into the landscape, avoiding trees and boulders. The large windows connect the interior with the surrounding nature, as well as letting in light from all the directions of the compass. A large sky light (3.0 x 2.2m) fills the center of the house with light and contributes to the transparency of the building.</p><br/><p>The interior is one continuous space divided only by the offset building units. This creates smaller private spaces within a larger space. The family member’s private rooms have generous proportions and border directly to a large negotiable space. The relation between negotiable-, and private spaces are regulated with large sliding wall partitions. The house sits on a plinth foundation, avoiding any rock blasting. Both the floor-, and roof slabs are in situ cast. The outer walls are in situ cast with thin supporting steel columns. The outer facade is covered in milled wooden panels.</p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/29.jpg'><img height='791' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/29.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27424'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/39.jpg'><img height='667' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/39.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27425'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/49.jpg'><img height='676' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/49.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27426'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/59.jpg'><img height='1000' width='656' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/59.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27427'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/69.jpg'><img height='669' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/69.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27428'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/78.jpg'><img height='1000' width='667' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/78.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27429'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/88.jpg'><img height='667' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/88.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27430'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/98.jpg'><img height='669' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/98.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27431'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/108.jpg'><img height='796' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/108.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27432'/></a></p><br/><p>Info and images <span class='s1'>© </span><a target='_blank' href='http://www.thecommonoffice.se/'>The Common Office</a></p><br/><search/><br/><a href='http://inspirationist.net/villa-altonas-facade-folds-itself-into-the-landscape/'>Villa Altona's facade folds itself into the landscape</a>Ionel Pascuhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01761845947199504778noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7901433686420427566.post-55659884387958686912015-06-16T11:55:00.001+03:002015-06-16T11:55:33.478+03:00The 'Factory of Words' sits on the place of a former rice mill<p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/114.jpg'><img height='765' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/114.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27410'/></a></p><br/><p>The <strong>V.F.Xira Municipal Library</strong> is located on the north bank of the Tagus River, on the site formerly occupied by a rice mill, hence its name <strong>“Factory of Words”</strong>. The volumetric characteristics of the old factory, the proximity of the Tagus River, a broader concept of the functions of a library and finally the desire to build an effectively usable equipment for the local population, were the most crucial concepts in conceiving this library. In this sense, <a target='_blank' href='http://www.miguelarruda.com/'>Miguel Arruda Arquitectos Associados</a> went beyond the traditional reading and media consultation areas of more formal or casual character (newspapers or magazines) outside the areas considered of significant size for children, cafeteria and exhibition hall. They also designed a multipurpose space on the ground floor that can be used as an auditorium. In order to be able to contribute to a greater and more effective relation of users with the space, the different floors are overlapped in an intentionally staggered manner in order to ensure a clear visual contact between them. This overlap draws a markedly vertical void that becomes the reference element in the spatial concept of the library.</p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/28.jpg'><img height='667' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/28.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27411'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/38.jpg'><img height='667' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/38.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27412'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/48.jpg'><img height='667' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/48.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27413'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/58.jpg'><img height='1000' width='913' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/58.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27414'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/68.jpg'><img height='886' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/68.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27415'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/77.jpg'><img height='831' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/77.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27416'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/87.jpg'><img height='667' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/87.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27417'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/97.jpg'><img height='1000' width='922' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/97.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27418'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/107.jpg'><img height='667' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/107.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27419'/></a></p><br/><p>Info and images <span class='s1'>© </span><a target='_blank' href='http://www.miguelarruda.com/'>Miguel Arruda Arquitectos Associados</a></p><br/><search/><br/><a href='http://inspirationist.net/the-factory-of-words-sits-on-the-place-of-a-former-rice-mill/'>The 'Factory of Words' sits on the place of a former rice mill</a>Ionel Pascuhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01761845947199504778noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7901433686420427566.post-18446551928742748652015-06-15T11:56:00.001+03:002015-06-15T11:56:02.656+03:00Jupiter Machine by Peter Tarka<p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/1.png'><img height='1000' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/1.png' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27403'/></a></p><br/><p><strong>Jupiter Machine</strong> is <a href='https://www.behance.net/gallery/26395467/Jupiter'>Peter Tarka</a>‘s latest graphic design and illustration project. ‘In his early twenties and sculpting cutting edge 3D pieces, Peter Tarka is an emerging artist on a mission. This approach necessitated completely tearing down the rear façade and improper installations of an Antwerp residence, and replacing it with the largest glass pivoting doors in the world. The sleek, contemporary glass rear with gigantic custom-made doors (3m wide, 6m high) stands in stark contrast to the solemn front. The stunning three-level environment is bathed in natural light. They weigh 2000 kg each, yet may effortlessly be pushed open with just one finger. This beautiful mix between existing historical elements and a contemporary rear façade, creates a vision in glass embracing both aesthetic and practical considerations in a design where the indoor/outdoor feel is enhanced.</p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/27.jpg'><img height='1024' width='683' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/27-683x1024.jpg' class='aligncenter size-large wp-image-27394'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/37.jpg'><img height='1024' width='683' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/37-683x1024.jpg' class='aligncenter size-large wp-image-27395'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/47.jpg'><img height='1024' width='683' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/47-683x1024.jpg' class='aligncenter size-large wp-image-27396'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/57.jpg'><img height='1024' width='683' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/57-683x1024.jpg' class='aligncenter size-large wp-image-27397'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/67.jpg'><img height='533' width='800' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/67.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27398'/></a></p><br/><p>Info and images <span class='s1'>© </span> <a target='_blank' href='http://www.sculp.it/'>Sculp[IT]</a></p><br/><search/><br/><a href='http://inspirationist.net/worlds-largest-glass-pivoting-doors-are-in-antwerp/'>World's largest glass pivoting doors are in Antwerp</a>Ionel Pascuhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01761845947199504778noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7901433686420427566.post-78725551048882454372015-06-11T11:56:00.001+03:002015-06-11T11:56:28.751+03:00A pavilion with a compact core and glazed façades all around<p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/112.jpg'><img height='641' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/112.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27379'/></a></p><br/><p>After a very fast construction period of only two months a spectaculair new pavilion shines in the heart of Rotterdam. <a target='_blank' href='http://www.mei-arch.eu/'>Mei architects and planners</a> designed this new <strong>McDonald’s</strong> pavilion on Coolsingel Rotterdam. The new building volume has been carefully detailed and articulated by Mei to open up views of the monumental post office behind it. As a result, the pavilion has the most compact possible core, with glazed façades all around. A fully transparent lobby, with entrances on three sides, makes it seem as though the public space flows through the building. Like the historical buildings in the area, the pavilion features a richly articulated façade, carried out in one single material: gold anodized aluminum. This warm and elegant-looking material is vandal-proof and enduring at the same time. The skin is perforated with heart-shaped openings to form a ‘veil’ around the glazed building through which illumination shines. This skin is continued in the interior walls and ceilings.</p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/26.jpg'><img height='641' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/26.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27380'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/36.jpg'><img height='1000' width='667' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/36.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27381'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/46.jpg'><img height='641' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/46.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27382'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/56.jpg'><img height='1000' width='667' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/56.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27383'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/66.jpg'><img height='641' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/66.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27384'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/76.jpg'><img height='641' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/76.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27385'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/86.jpg'><img height='641' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/86.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27386'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/96.jpg'><img height='1000' width='667' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/96.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27387'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/106.jpg'><img height='667' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/106.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27388'/></a></p><br/><p>Info and images <span class='s1'>© </span><a target='_blank' href='http://www.mei-arch.eu/'>Mei architects and planners</a></p><br/><search/><br/><a href='http://inspirationist.net/a-pavilion-with-a-compact-core-and-glazed-facades-all-around/'>A pavilion with a compact core and glazed façades all around</a>Ionel Pascuhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01761845947199504778noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7901433686420427566.post-61198467160579082022015-05-26T11:55:00.001+03:002015-05-26T11:55:59.181+03:00A design and formal language of poetic tenor: Swarovski Kristallwelten<p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/127.jpg'><img height='666' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/127.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27195'/></a></p><br/><p><a target='_blank' href='http://www.snoarc.no/'>Snøhetta</a> has been commissioned to take part in the expansion of the Swarovski Kristallwelten (Swarovski Crystal Worlds). Swarovski Kristallwelten has put together a team of three architectural firms, including CAO PERROT, s_o_s architekten, and Snøhetta. Snøhetta has contributed with three main elements to the expansion; a play tower and adjacent playground, a shop entrance, and a café and restaurant area.</p><br/><p>With the goal of having the expanded Swarovski Kristallwelten appealing to all visitors’ senses, with a particular focus on children, a new building typology has emerged in this project. Situated in the south end of the garden, the 20 meter tall playtower will foster a wide range of playing experiences on four vertically arranged levels, creating an innovative experience of space. The tower’s façade consists of 160 crystal facets, where not two are alike. The panels are printed with an innovative pattern made from millions of tiny motifs that are linked to the history of Swarovski. At night, the structure presents a spectacular body of light that magically enhances the reflections of the surrounding Crystal Cloud and Mirror Pool.</p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/217.jpg'><img height='1000' width='788' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/217.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27196'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/314.jpg'><img height='1000' width='788' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/314.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27197'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/414.jpg'><img height='1000' width='788' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/414.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27198'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/514.jpg'><img height='788' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/514.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27199'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/613.jpg'><img height='788' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/613.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27200'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/713.jpg'><img height='788' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/713.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27201'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/811.jpg'><img height='788' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/811.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27202'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/910.jpg'><img height='666' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/910.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27203'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/1010.jpg'><img height='788' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/1010.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27204'/></a></p><br/><p>Info and images <span class='s1'>© </span><a target='_blank' href='http://www.snoarc.no/'>Snøhetta</a></p><br/> <br/><a href='http://inspirationist.net/a-design-and-formal-language-of-poetic-tenor-swarovski-kristallwelten/'>A design and formal language of poetic tenor: Swarovski Kristallwelten</a>Ionel Pascuhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01761845947199504778noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7901433686420427566.post-232073469299601442015-05-22T11:56:00.001+03:002015-05-22T11:56:07.109+03:00Current and connection define the design of Proti Proudu Bistro<p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/126.jpg'><img height='1024' width='683' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/126-683x1024.jpg' class='aligncenter size-large wp-image-27183'/></a></p><br/><p>Current and connection are the main themes of the interior design of <strong>Proti Proudu Bistro</strong> in Prague district Karlín. Inspiration by František Krizik, the Karlín-born electrical engineering innovator, merged with the idea of connecting through good coffee and delicious food. The main bar wall, made of white perforated plywood, creates a grid, which all the components on the wall connect to – from the sliding targets of wires to the paper roll with daily menu.</p><br/><p>Network of wires, stretching from the switches behind the counter to the lights above the tables, draws attention to the connection between staff and guests. Each of the lights is operated separately, location of the switches on the wall grid reflects the real position of the lights in the room. The lights turn on and off as guests come and go. Every time the door opens, it lights a new spark in the bistro. Plywood texture softly reflects stone floor pattern, as well as the oak board of the counter and individual tables. Steel elements preserve their unrefined black iron character. The only exception is the rusty counter with the motto that will never rust – IN COFFEE WE TRUST.</p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/216.jpg'><img height='533' width='800' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/216.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27184'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/313.jpg'><img height='1024' width='683' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/313-683x1024.jpg' class='aligncenter size-large wp-image-27185'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/413.jpg'><img height='1024' width='683' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/413-683x1024.jpg' class='aligncenter size-large wp-image-27186'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/513.jpg'><img height='1024' width='683' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/513-683x1024.jpg' class='aligncenter size-large wp-image-27187'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/612.jpg'><img height='1024' width='683' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/612-683x1024.jpg' class='aligncenter size-large wp-image-27188'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/712.jpg'><img height='1024' width='683' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/712-683x1024.jpg' class='aligncenter size-large wp-image-27189'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/810.jpg'><img height='533' width='800' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/810.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27190'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/99.jpg'><img height='1024' width='683' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/99-683x1024.jpg' class='aligncenter size-large wp-image-27191'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/109.jpg'><img height='1024' width='683' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/109-683x1024.jpg' class='aligncenter size-large wp-image-27192'/></a></p><br/><p>Info <span class='s1'>© </span><a target='_blank' href='http://mimosa.cz/'>Mimosa architekti</a> and <a target='_blank' href='http://www.modulora.cz/'>Modulora</a><br/><br/>Images <span class='s1'>© </span><a target='_blank' href='http://www.boysplaynice.com/'>BoysPlayNice</a></p><br/> <br/><a href='http://inspirationist.net/current-and-connection-define-the-design-of-proti-proudu-bistro/'>Current and connection define the design of Proti Proudu Bistro</a>Ionel Pascuhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01761845947199504778noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7901433686420427566.post-6227593930984181472015-05-21T11:55:00.001+03:002015-05-21T11:55:48.969+03:00Cabin Norderhov's interior is shaped as a continuous space<p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/125.jpg'><img height='666' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/125.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27171'/></a></p><br/><p><strong>Cabin Norderhov</strong> by <a target='_blank' href='http://www.atelieroslo.no/'>Atelier Oslo</a> is located in Krokskogen forests, outside the town of Hønefoss. Its location on a steep slope gives a fantastic view over the lake Steinsfjorden. The site is often exposed to strong winds, so the cabin is organized around several outdoors spaces that provide shelter from the wind and receives the sun at different times of the day. The interior is shaped as a continuous space. The curved walls and ceilings form continuous surfaces clad with 4mm birch plywood.</p><br/><p>The floor follows the terrain and divides the plan into several levels that also defines the different functional zones of the cabin. The transitions between these levels create steps that provide varies places for sitting and lying down. Large glass walls are located in the living and dining areas. The frames of the glass are detailed carefully to avoid seeing it from the inside. This creates a more direct relationship with the nature outside. Outside, the cottage has a more rectangular geometry and the walls and roofs are covered with 20mm basalt stone slabs laid in a pattern similar the ones often used for traditional wooden claddings in Norway.</p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/215.jpg'><img height='1000' width='775' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/215.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27172'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/312.jpg'><img height='1000' width='724' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/312.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27173'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/412.jpg'><img height='1000' width='776' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/412.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27174'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/512.jpg'><img height='666' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/512.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27175'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/611.jpg'><img height='777' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/611.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27176'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/711.jpg'><img height='666' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/711.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27177'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/89.jpg'><img height='665' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/89.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27178'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/98.jpg'><img height='1000' width='758' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/98.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27179'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/108.jpg'><img height='637' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/108.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27180'/></a></p><br/><p>Info and images <span class='s1'>© </span><a target='_blank' href='http://www.atelieroslo.no/'>Atelier Oslo</a></p><br/> <br/><a href='http://inspirationist.net/cabin-norderhovs-interior-is-shaped-as-a-continuous-space/'>Cabin Norderhov's interior is shaped as a continuous space</a>Ionel Pascuhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01761845947199504778noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7901433686420427566.post-11057949086939819952015-05-20T11:55:00.001+03:002015-05-20T11:55:50.249+03:00Mass and space combine in a perforated, weathered steel structure<p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/124.jpg'><img height='666' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/124.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27159'/></a></p><br/><p>Mass and space combine together in a perforated, weathered steel (Cor-Ten™) structure that creates and sets clear boundaries for the <strong>‘In Praise of Shadows’ house by Pitsou Kedem Architects</strong>. The structure regulates the amount of sunlight penetrating the building’s spaces and controls the angle of sight both into and from the building whist creating a controlled, visual dialogue between the inside and the outside. The structure is constructed from layers and areas. The central area which is the central space, the residential area which centers around a double, communal living space and the external area, the weathered steel structure which defines a border and area for the building whilst creating new, intermediary areas that combine the inside and the outside.</p><br/><p>The building is constructed of exposed concrete walls, large and inanimate and, without the movement of light and shade, they appear almost monastic. The shade and shadows moving across the building’s surfaces create a dynamic drama that makes the entire mass seem to be alive and full of movement. Sometimes the shadows and shade create repeating geometric shapes that sometimes stretch the entire length of the wall and sometimes creating unique blends of color and depth on the grey walls.</p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/214.jpg'><img height='666' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/214.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27160'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/311.jpg'><img height='666' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/311.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27161'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/411.jpg'><img height='471' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/411.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27162'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/511.jpg'><img height='666' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/511.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27163'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/610.jpg'><img height='666' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/610.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27164'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/710.jpg'><img height='653' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/710.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27165'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/88.jpg'><img height='666' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/88.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27166'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/97.jpg'><img height='666' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/97.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27167'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/107.jpg'><img height='1000' width='672' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/107.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27168'/></a></p><br/><p>Info and images <span class='s1'>© </span><a target='_blank' href='http://www.pitsou.com/'>Pitsou Kedem Architects</a></p><br/> <br/><a href='http://inspirationist.net/mass-and-space-combine-in-a-perforated-weathered-steel-structure/'>Mass and space combine in a perforated, weathered steel structure</a>Ionel Pascuhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01761845947199504778noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7901433686420427566.post-56067041184769550772015-05-19T11:55:00.001+03:002015-05-19T11:55:21.340+03:00The House of Four Houses creates an interstitial space<p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/122.jpg'><img height='532' width='800' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/122.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27139'/></a></p><br/><p><span class='s1'>This holiday house by </span><span class='s1'><a href='http://www.prod.pt/'>prod architecture & design</a><b> </b></span><span class='s1'>for a family of four is located in the north of Portugal. Three of the volumes are orthogonally organized around a core, whilst a fourth rotates to match the direction of an existing neighbouring building. The proximity between the two constructions led to a desired dialogue. The modest dimensions of the existing building determined the scale of the house, while the vernacular identity influenced its layout. Each volume has a two slope roof. The living-dining spaces are located to the east, to get more sunlight and morning warmth through large windows, and the services are located to the west and north. To provide privacy, a concrete screen wall prevents from overlooking the street and garages, creating an indoor garden that becomes the heart of the house, thus producing a kind of open pavilion surrounded by green. The staircase is hidden behind walls, dividing public and private areas. The screen wall serves as the primary structural element of the house. The purification in the structure results in a minimal design, devoid of vertical elements, cleaning the space and at the same time with the effect that most of the weight of the house rests solely on the right end of the concrete wall.</p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/211.jpg'><img height='666' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/211.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27115'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/38.jpg'><img height='666' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/38.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27116'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/48.jpg'><img height='1000' width='666' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/48.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27117'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/58.jpg'><img height='1000' width='666' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/58.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27118'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/67.jpg'><img height='666' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/67.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27119'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/77.jpg'><img height='1000' width='666' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/77.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27120'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/85.jpg'><img height='666' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/85.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27121'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/95.jpg'><img height='1000' width='666' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/95.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27122'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/105.jpg'><img height='1000' width='666' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/105.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27123'/></a></p><br/><p>Info and images <span class='s1'>© </span><a target='_blank' href='http://www.cotaparedes.com/'>Abraham Cota Paredes Arquitectos</a></p><br/> <br/><a href='http://inspirationist.net/a-house-to-see-the-sky/'>A house to see the sky</a>Ionel Pascuhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01761845947199504778noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7901433686420427566.post-31057423734792051382015-05-14T11:55:00.001+03:002015-05-14T11:55:48.317+03:00Pokrovka Interior: a music studio and an artistic atmosphere<p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/117.jpg'><img height='722' width='960' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/117.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27098'/></a></p><br/><p>The apartment is an example of historical architecture. The house was built in the beginning of the 20th century and was owned by a neighbouring church. Its repair was already completed, but the client wanted to highlight the history of the house and to make the design striking and noble. <a href='http://www.olegklodt.com/en/portfolio/project/41'>Oleg Klodt</a> created a music studio and an artistic atmosphere, which is great for an active bachelor’s residence. Maximum flexibility and spatial quality are the key elements in its concept of development. The open layout is structured by a chimney and a wet cell creating three spatial units that provide for individual use and design. The structure and ambience of the rooms are characterised by the use of domestic woods. The plot is long and narrow and extends between the road and the water. Perhaps as a contrast to the context, <a target='_blank' href='http://www.arrhovfrick.se/'>Arrhov Frick Arkitektkontor</a> wanted to build the house around a robust and clear material and concrete blocks with cement plaster became an important part. Simple geometry and detailing have been essential in order to build the house within a tight budget. The house consists of six 5.4 meter high walls located along the promenade to the waterfront. The walls are anchored to a closed wall to the north.</p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/25.jpg'><img height='671' width='1000' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/25.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27047'/></a></p><br/><p>Privacy. Unobstructed views to the sea. Between some of the six walls there are casted slabs that divides the rooms horizontally. Room dimensions and relationships are tested and developed with care during the process. The result is a sequence of different types of spaces with specific characteristics. A narrow and tall entrance situation. Generous sized bathrooms. Bedrooms as balconies. Roof terrace among the pine trees. An intimate dining area and a generous living room with abundant light.</p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/32.jpg'><img height='1000' width='667' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/32.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27048'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/42.jpg'><img height='1000' width='661' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/42.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27049'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/52.jpg'><img height='1000' width='662' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/52.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27050'/></a></p><br/><p>Info and images <span class='s1'>© </span><a target='_blank' href='http://www.arrhovfrick.se/'>Arrhov Frick Arkitektkontor</a></p><br/> <br/><a href='http://inspirationist.net/simple-geometry-and-detailing-define-six-walls-house/'>Simple geometry and detailing define Six Walls House</a>Ionel Pascuhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01761845947199504778noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7901433686420427566.post-75832547079887356042015-05-06T11:55:00.001+03:002015-05-06T11:55:53.557+03:00Bond Bar: a car park converted into a glamorous nightspot<p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/110.jpg'><img height='439' width='1024' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/110-1024x439.jpg' class='aligncenter size-large wp-image-27032'/></a></p><br/><p><strong>Bond Bar</strong> was one of <strong>Hachem</strong>‘s earliest successes. Converted from car park to glamorous nightspot, the design attracted acclaim and the venue drew a crowd. One decade later in 2014, and a change of hands prompted an update within the iconic space. While the signature curves and intimate lounge atmosphere remain, the decor was stripped of its heavier elements. Masculine furnishings were softened, the colour palette refined and lightened, and a stunning lighting strategy was implemented. Bond bar’s original logo – cool, evocative and just the right amount of retro/Deco – was retained.</p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/24.jpg'><img height='439' width='1024' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/24-1024x439.jpg' class='aligncenter size-large wp-image-27033'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/31.jpg'><img height='439' width='1024' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/31-1024x439.jpg' class='aligncenter size-large wp-image-27034'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/41.jpg'><img height='439' width='1024' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/41-1024x439.jpg' class='aligncenter size-large wp-image-27035'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/51.jpg'><img height='439' width='1024' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/51-1024x439.jpg' class='aligncenter size-large wp-image-27036'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/61.jpg'><img height='439' width='1024' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/61-1024x439.jpg' class='aligncenter size-large wp-image-27037'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/71.jpg'><img height='439' width='1024' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/71-1024x439.jpg' class='aligncenter size-large wp-image-27038'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/81.jpg'><img height='439' width='1024' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/81-1024x439.jpg' class='aligncenter size-large wp-image-27039'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/91.jpg'><img height='439' width='1024' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/91-1024x439.jpg' class='aligncenter size-large wp-image-27040'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/101.jpg'><img height='439' width='1024' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/101-1024x439.jpg' class='aligncenter size-large wp-image-27041'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/111.jpg'><img height='439' width='1024' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/111-1024x439.jpg' class='aligncenter size-large wp-image-27042'/></a></p><br/><p>Info <span class='s1'>© </span><a href='http://www.hachem.com.au/pr_bond.html'>Hachem</a></p><br/><p>Images <span class='s1'>© </span><a href='http://www.bondmelbourne.com.au/index.html'>Bond Melbourne</a></p><br/> <br/><a href='http://inspirationist.net/bond-bar-a-car-park-converted-into-a-glamorous-nightspot/'>Bond Bar: a car park converted into a glamorous nightspot</a>Ionel Pascuhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01761845947199504778noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7901433686420427566.post-770742405066525272015-05-04T11:55:00.001+03:002015-05-04T11:55:50.637+03:00nendo reinterprets the simple wooden door in 7 ingenious ways<p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/1.jpg'><img height='547' width='820' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/1.jpg' class='aligncenter size-full wp-image-27007'/></a></p><br/><p><a href='http://www.nendo.jp/en/works/seven-doors/?erelease'>nendo</a> has created <strong>Seven door designs</strong> to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Abe Kogyo, a manufacturer of wooden front and interior doors, partitions, fixtures and custom-made furniture. The living areas have been placed at the top of the building in order to enhance sunlight, with a southern terrace meeting a steep rock-face to the rear. Created by bon vivants and visionaries Gabriele Salini and Emanuele Garosci, with the coordination of the architect Giorgia Cerulli. Design Hotels™ only member in Rome captures 400 years of architectural history, blending it with contemporary art and vintage Italian design. The result: A ten suite triumph in which a new “Made in Italy” brand of unconventional luxury is presented. </span></p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/234.jpg'><img height='710' width='1024' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/234-1024x710.jpg' class='aligncenter size-large wp-image-26982'/></a></p><br/><p>The residential façade of 69/70 Pasquino is set on a tall and narrow five-story building, perched on the edge of the bustling Piazza Navona, with the domed Sant’Agnese church just a stone´s throw away. Inscribed with “SATIS AMPLA QVAE SECVRITATE RIDEAT” (Latin for “big enough to give a feeling of security”), the building still presents a perfect picture of classic Italy. Set on the Piazza Di Pasquino, ten meters from the iconic Piazza Navona, this was the main market area in Rome for over 300 years, and now plays host to picturesque fountains as well as a number of lively restaurants, shops, and bars.</p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/334.jpg'><img height='793' width='1024' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/334-1024x793.jpg' class='aligncenter size-large wp-image-26983'/></a></p><br/><p>Beautifully bare walls and high oak beam ceilings contrast with clean-cut designer furniture, creating a signature rustic-meets-refined effect. Each of the ten suites, set over five floors, draws inspiration from a different Italian design legend from the 1930s to the 1970s, with original furniture from the likes of as Ico Parisi, Giò Ponti, Guglielmo Ulrich and Aristide Seguso, among others. Futuristic twinkling lamps and mid-century modern furniture contrast against naked wood, original parquet and tiled floors, and unfinished walls to create a uniquely harmonious aesthetic. “We’re presenting a very Italian sense of luxury, one with history, design, art, and a touch of whimsy,” says entrepreneur Gabriele Salini. Sophisticated, Fellini-esque interiors, a wine gallery, and a homey atmosphere abound, while a youthful, energetic spirit pervades.</p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/433.jpg'><img height='828' width='1024' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/433-1024x828.jpg' class='aligncenter size-large wp-image-26984'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/533.jpg'><img height='818' width='1024' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/533-1024x818.jpg' class='aligncenter size-large wp-image-26985'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/631.jpg'><img height='739' width='1024' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/631-1024x739.jpg' class='aligncenter size-large wp-image-26986'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/731.jpg'><img height='1024' width='810' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/731-810x1024.jpg' class='aligncenter size-large wp-image-26987'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/828.jpg'><img height='835' width='1024' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/828-1024x835.jpg' class='aligncenter size-large wp-image-26988'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/927.jpg'><img height='862' width='1024' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/927-1024x862.jpg' class='aligncenter size-large wp-image-26989'/></a></p><br/><p> </p><br/><p><a href='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/1024.jpg'><img height='644' width='1024' alt='' src='http://inspirationist.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/1024-1024x644.jpg' class='aligncenter size-large wp-image-26990'/></a></p><br/><p>Info courtesy of <a href='http://www.ddlstudio.com/'>DDL Studio</a></p><br/><p>Images <span class='s1'>© </span><a href='http://www.g-rough.com/hotel-rome'>G-Rough</a></p><br/> <br/><a href='http://inspirationist.net/g-rough-rome-a-nostalgic-look-towards-the-city-with-a-contemporary-twist/'>G-Rough Rome: a nostalgic look towards the city with a contemporary twist</a>Ionel Pascuhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01761845947199504778noreply@blogger.com0
