 WI 02 is a house designed to establish a close relationship with nature and the beautiful landscape where it sits.

A landscape originally of oaks with recent incorporation of pines, on which roads and public green areas have been overlapped, and define each of the parts of the golf course. Normatively fencing is not allowed, therefore limits must be defined by coordinates, and the relationship between public and private is defined by distances, changes in vegetation and types of pavements, …

The SIFERA Wi-02 house is a large porch that sits on the top of the plot, where the best views and access are. Three patios modulate the atmospheric conditions and graduate and modulate the privacy between inside and outside. These patios and the porched gallery are the ones that offer, mediate and modulate the relationship between nature and life. From the entrance hall, a patio frames the views and articulates the program. A serving fringe is set as a backdrop of the main rooms, which are located towards the views and sunlight. This service fringe together with the entrance patios are located all along the north side of the house, in order to provide thermic comfort and also to modulate the privacy from the road of access. Then, three patios organize the functions of the house and its relationship with the environment. The porched gallery becomes an outdoor living space and allows all rooms to be related to the garden.

 SIFERA construction system:

This system is based on the concept of pre-design where the project is developed jointly with the manufacturers from the initial phases. All the team work -manufacturers included- have developed a three months construction system based on pre-industrialization, pre-assembly and the use of easily recyclable materials. The structure is made of large laminated wood panels with the sustainability seal FSC. The envelope and interior finishes, like base molding, windows, doors, pavement, etc. have been pre-assembled in a workshop to be mounted on site in a very optimized time per system.

The facades and roofs are ventilated and interconnected to improve the thermal insulation of the house. These systems do not depend on each other for their construction. For example, the low-emissivity glass panels are mounted interchangeably on the opaque wood openings, improving the flexibility of the work on-site.

Xerophytic gardening, low-maintenance lighting and water taps, recycling water for irrigation, solar panels, an automatic heating system, efficient appliances, the use of natural cellulose insulation… facilitate a good energetic control of the dwelling and complement passive systems like the location of patios towards the north, cross-ventilation, porches, and best solar orientation.
