Project149 SS'14 by Monica Mignone & Elisa Vigliante

An ultra-clean aesthetic and fifties references typify the style of the SS14 collection of the new brand Project 149, made by Monica Mignone and Elisa Vigilante. After the aboutme experience, the designers pursue their stylistic features, focusing on basic silhouette and unusual combinations of materials, mixing matte and glossy surfaces, light and heavy fabrics in a well balanced mix. High volumes and sharp cuts characterize the retro-inspired cotton gabardine duster coat, while the bomber jacket – available in two version, silk/wool and wet fleece – is worm with bandeau bras in natural colors.

Jumpsuits, boxy tops and mini dresses show patchwork inserts and urban patterns; long dresses, apparently chastened, reveal plunging necklines. Rigorous shapes of two-tone shirts and printed wide-leg pants become smooth in knot neck tops and in soft crêpe de chine tunics.

Minaudière and woven leather clutches complete the collection, along with cuffs and sneakers, giving a sporty and contemporary touch to it. The color palette is essential: neutrals ivory, powder, nude, grey are mixed with bright shades of amber, emerald and mineral blue.
